Abstract
An investigation of characteristics of fluid dynamics and noise for a centrifugal fan with inducer was conducted with respect to the effects of three parameters : inlet angle, outlet angle and 3 dimensional outlet angle. Moreover, we proposed a new method to calculate the width of wake, which is an important parameter to control the turbulent noise. It is shown that the inlet angle hardly effects on turbulent noise but the outlet angle effects on the turbulent noise. The optimum value of outlet angle is about 48 degree. The experimental values of the overall turbulent noise with L-weighting and A-weighting functions agreed well-predicted values.
