Abstract
The goal of this research is to show the synergetic benefits obtainable by integrating energy sectors of society. The usual structure of community energy systems is such that various sectors of the society receive their required energy from mainly centralized facilities (e.g.centralized power plant). There is no interaction between different sectors of society. The goal of this research IS pursued by using a novel methodology R)r designing optimum integrated energy system in which symbiotic cooperation between various energy sectors has been defined. As a result, community's energy demands are met more sustainably. Some of the relative merits of the proposed design compering to present situation are: 37% increase in energy efficiency, 86.5% reduction in net costs, and 17% decrease in amount of CO_2 production per capita.
