Abstract

Ionic wind has great merits, including instant start and stop, simple structure of the devices, ease of placement in small spaces. As a device to utilize those features, we are aiming to realize a thermal switch that controls heat flow between facing two solid surfaces that have temperatures deferent from each other. The objective of this study is to find the characteristics of a device where a corona discharge electrode is placed in the gap space formed by a copper plate and an aluminum block, which is kept at a constant temperature. We would report the results of comparison among configurations of plural corona discharge electrodes.
