Abstract
In this paper, flows past circular cylinders in tandem and staggered arrangement are investigated numerically. The new Cartesian grid method that presented by PIAO and KURODA was used to calculate the flows. The Finite Volume Method (FVM) is used for discretization of the Navier-Stokes equations and the continuity equation. From the numerical simulation results, the drag coefficient and lift coefficient and Strouhal numbers of cylinders are obtained. The effects of distances between cylinders on flow fields are also studied.
