Abstract
Infrared thermography has recently been utilized to detect faults in the concretestructures. It is, however, not easy to judge the internal conditons of concrete because the distribution of temperatures on the surface of the concrete structure contains some kinds of noises which derive from complexity of concrete, uneven surfaci and dirt. So, the method to remove the noises from the temperature distribution is discussed in this report. The method consists of three steps. The first step is to calculate the two demensional wavelet trasform of the temperature distribution. The second step is to remove the small components of theabove wavelet transform. The third step is to calculate the two demensional inverse wavelet transform of the remaining components of it. The corrected temperature distribution which is obtained thus shows the faults more clearly.
