Abstract
In this study,we have been investigating rheological and printing characteristics of pastes used for screen printing to form electrode patterns on substrates.Influences of particle size of the pastes on the characteristics are mainly discussed in this report.Pastes with small particles showed low fluidity at low shear rate region and high yield stress.Aspect ratio of cross section and height unevenness of printed lines were estimated after printing and drying.Low aspect ratio was obtained when fine lines were printed with the pastes of smaller particles. It is considered that these results would be corresponding to the rheological properties of the pastes. However, high unevenness of the height was obtained in the case of paste with larger particles. The flow through very small space generated with opening of the screen and mesh inserted in it would be affected to the printing characteristics.
