Abstract
A direct numerical simulation of the fully developed velocity and temperature fields in a turbulent channel flow was carried out. We applied a turbulence control to reduce the drag by blowing and suction on the channel walls. In such a flow, it is expected that the similarity between velocity and temperature fluctuations breaks down owing to the local pressure gradient near the blowing region. The unsteady behaviors of coherent structure in the channel flow under the active turbulence control were visualized and animated in this study.
