Abstract
Long-period ground motion that effects specific architectures has attracted much attentions in these day. Many earthquake researchers state that the Toukai earthquake cause long-period ground motion in Kanto region. The latest architectures have been taken a countermeasure against long-period ground motion using dampers, while many old high-rise building have not. In the object of this paper is to design turned mass damper(T.M.D) for high-rise buildings and minimize the maximum layer displacement of the buildings.
