Abstract
The tasks of in-core reload design for PWR nuclear power plants are to supply a nuclear fuel assembly loading pattern scheme and safety evaluation, and plant operation guide, based upon the energy requirements of utilities and burnup limitation of fuel assemblies. Reload design is a very complex project. It needs completely consideration of neutronics, thermal-hydraulic, safety and operation. This paper presents the commercial operational PWR nuclear power plants in China, the in-core reload design documents and computer code packages used, and shows an example of comparison between design and measurement values on reactor startup physics tests. The expected design values are accorded with the measurement values on the control bank worth, critical boron concentration, isothermal temperature coefficient, and boron difference worth.
