Abstract
Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry (henceforth, CRIEPI) is a research institute that conducts a wide range of research on Japan's electric power industry, from electric power supply to usage of electricity. Recently, CRIEPI has been working to decrease society's carbon footprint and meet the demand for a steady power supply for our information-based society. To achieve this, we are placing particular importance on presenting accurate academic and scientific information, based on the knowledge we have gained through our research activities. CRIEPI was founded to make a contribution to society through the electric power industry, and we have been working to do this for over twenty years. Our results have enabled us to give back to Japanese society, industries, research institutes, academic associations and other highly specialized organizations, and society as a whole has come to recognize the passionate environmental and energy-related efforts we make in the form of our social contribution activities. In this report, we will outline the activities CRIEPI carries out to contribute to society.
