Abstract
The design of a long-life small reactor requires not only better reactivity compensation capability, but also high burn-up depth. By improving fuel enrichment and conversion, this paper presents a design scheme for a long-life small pressurized water reactor core. The MCNP and ORIGEN programs were then used to calculate and analyze important physical parameters. The results show that the long-life core solution based on MOX fuel has better reactivity control ability, higher burnup depth and longer core life.
