Abstract

A French education model, the "Grandes écoles" Educational system, is mixed with the Chinese university education model and performed in a leading Chinese university, Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Since 2010, the Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology (Institut Franco-Chinois de l'Energie Nucléaire, IFCEN) at SYSU has educated more than 700 students majoring in nuclear engineering and technology. Graduates are contributing to the worldwide nuclear industry. The present work concentrates on what IFCEN has done, is doing, and will do.
