Abstract
For the purpose of understanding the mechanisms of the capacitance effect, sawdust as biomass samples and three materials of porous particles were used as bed materials of fixed bed and pyrolysis experiments were done in the fixed bed reactor. From the results of these experiments, we suggest a mechanism model of capacitance effect, which consists of two mechanisms. One is high temperature adsorption effect for high boiling point tar components and another is catalytic effect for middle boiling point tar components. For the purpose of checking model availability, Naphthalene, Pyrene and Heavy Oil C were used as model tar samples and pyrolysis experiments of them were done in the same reactor. In the range studied, this model can be considered reasonable.
