Abstract

To achieve the global goal of decarbonization, use of hydrogen in place of fossil fuels is expected to increase worldwide. In this study, basic combustion tests using a single-hole nozzle and combustion tests of a hydrogen burner using a scaled-down model furnace were carried out in order to establish the hydrogen combustion technology for boilers of safe, low NOx, and low cost. As a result, it was possible to grasp the characteristics of hydrogen combustion under high pressure supply conditions which have not been ever applied to an actual use, and to obtain good results as such as stable combustion and low NOx, and to obtain the prospect of actual use application.
