Abstract
New technologies of sensors and mechatronics are now applied positively for surgical intervention. In this paper, recent developments of the high performance surgery with mechatronics are introduced including surgical navigation system, chemical navigation with 5ALA, augmented reality image overlay device, surgical robots for remote surgery and MRI compatible robots to achieve minimally invasive surgery. Two examples of the image overlay system and the MRI compatible navigation robot are shown and the important factor of the development of surgical devices are discussed.
