Abstract
In this paper, we propose the new control techniques to stabilize the drive voltage (output voltage) of a total artificial heart (TAH). In an air-core type transcutaneous energy transmission system, the output voltage is fluctuated when the relative positions between the internal coil and the external coil are changed. To stably drive the artificial heart, the control of the output voltage using a feedback loop is necessary. Considering the problems of infectious disease and QOL (Quality of life), it is desirable that the output voltage can be controlled without feedback cable. This paper reports on that the output voltage is estimated and controlled by using primary coil current which can be measured outside the body.
