Abstract
Cleanliness should be important factor for the stable flying of the magnetic head slider in hard disk drives to improve the areal density.Generally,magnetic disk surface are burnished by the burnish slider at final process in manufacturing.However,the burnish sliders sometimes cause scratches on disk surfaces by the contact with disk surface.In this study,we fabricated the burnish slider with the burnishing surface of vertically aligned carbon nanotube,and studied the burnishing effect using that burnish slider.As a result,the patterned burnish slider of carbon nanotube improved the burnishing effect on magnetic disks.
