Frost generation onto heat exchangers’ surface is generally presumed to cause reduction of heat exchange efficiency, therefore the surface with some texturing to reduce adhesion between frost and the surface is required from the industrial field. To reduce the contact area between frost and metal surface, lines and spaces or dot pillars are thought to have powerful potential to eliminate frost. In this study, we investigated to observe the surface which has line and space on it by ESEM (Environmental Scanning Microscope). The equipment gives us to make better to understand the initial frost growth in the micro scale.
