Abstract
In this work, an innovative Ohno continuous casting (OCC) process was used to generate bismuth-tin alloy wires approximately 2 mm in diameter at speeds between 10 and 438 mm/min. The mechanical properties of the cast wires were examined and evaluated in relation to the cast structures. It was found that during the early stages of deformation inter-phase sliding and phase movement play the prominent role while during the later stages, plastic deformation of the phases takes place.
