Abstract
Surface of any solid is always either exposed to environment or in contact with some other surface. Hence the quality of surface is of utmost importance for proper functioning of a component. This involves both generation and finishing of surfaces. Finishing of surfaces can be dealt easily by conventional processes, if the surfaces are of regular shape. But for finishing, especially, intricate internal passages conventional processes are of little or no help because of their rigid nature. Lapping can be employed in some cases. Owing to the limitations of the conventional processes, a new technique that can realise the same objectives needs to be explored. Extrude Honing (EH), is one such technique; that can finish, radius, deburr, polish internal complex shapes. The present paper deals with parametrical influence on extrude honing process in finish machining of internal passages.
