Abstract
Waste elastics liquefaction will substantially contribute to reducing the burden of final waste repositories. Further, the reclaimed oil can be burnt without generating sulfa oxides or toxic substances such as dioxin. Waste plastics liquefaction technology therefore promises to be an excellent new technology in the field of refuse treatment. Law for the Promotion of Sorted Collection and Re-commercialization of Plastic Containers and Packings is enforced in the year of 2000. Based on the circumstances above, Douou Liquefaction Center (DYC) is under construction in Mikasa city, Hokkaidou and the commercial operation of the plant is planned to start in April, 2000.
