Abstract
This paper discussed flow fields of propeller fan used in a freezing compartment of household refrigerators, by using a numerical analysis. Not only propeller fan but also flow duct must be designed to reduce fan noise, because the fan is located in the complex figured duct which has a higher pressure resistance. By changing a figure of bellmouth and width of upstream duct, we successfully improved flow characteristics to achieve large fan noise reduction.
