Abstract
Our Magnetically Suspended Centrifugal blood pump has 3 axes control system instead of 5 axes in order to reduce pump size and electric power consumption. Stiffness in the radial direction is not so high because the impeller is passively controlled by restoring magnetic forces. So we examined rotational stability in case of various impellers. We measured x-and y-position of impeller by Laser sensors. And, it is also important to lower power consumption in the implanted blood pump. We make it intended to reduce exiting current for electromagnet in magnetic bearing by using the fluid force due to profile change of vanes. Then, we measured power consumption and pump characteristics in these impellers.
