A Study on the Uniform Bending of Elastic-Plastic Materials by the Finite Element Method : On the Saint-Venant's Principle

Abstract

This report shows the results of analyzing the bending of plates as it is called "uniform bending". We study the bending of elastic-plastic materials, and show the parts of uniform bending. In this reserch, the analyses are carried out by the Finite Element Method as the plane stress and the plane strain problems. This research shows the results of the elastic bending and elastic-plastic one. We point out considerations of the results of the stress and strain distribution.
