Abstract
The dynamic bifurcation fracture phenomenon is often observed in dynamic fast fracture. The authors have already succeeded to predict dynamic fracture paths in a symmetrical two crack branching phenomenon, using the moving finite element method based on Delaunay automatic mesh generation. In this paper, using an experimentally obtained history of unsymmetrical two crack branching fracture, the generation-phase simulation was carried out. Using the switching method of the path independent dynamic J integral, various fracture parameters were successfully estimated. From the generation phase-simulation, the behavior of the unsymmetrical two crack branching fracture is clarified.
