Abstract
This paper describes a mechanical hybrid vehicle in flywheel and CVT. In response to the global warming problem in recent years, improvement of the car which reduces greenhouse gas is desired. We study the purely mechanical hybrid vehicle, which used the flywheel and CVT. The advantage of a flywheel is of its ability to deliver and absorb high peak powers. Moreover, braking energy can be re-used at a higher efficiency than in the case of electric based hybrid system. In this research, we develop the energy recovery system, and study the usefulness by a real vehicle experiment and numerical computation.
