Abstract
Exhaust gas containing ammonia was purified with a newly-developed system combining a regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) and catalysts. The feature of this system is to purify simultaneously NO_X generated by oxidation of NH_3, and the remain NH_3 in the exhaust gas by catalyst reaction. For the ammonia generated in the manufactures a compost from chicken droppings, a actual proof of test was performed using a small-scaled system. Consequently. At the outlet of equipment, this system succeeded in reducing NH_3 to 1 ppm or less. And NO_X to 25 ppm or less.
