In some printers and copy machines, one of the methods for reducing belt skew is using pulley with smaller diameter. But a smaller diameter causes the early crack on the surface of the belt. In this research, FE analyses are carried out for examining the influence of the belt tension on the belt skew. The results show that the tension distribution influences the skew only within a short period when the belt start moving. And it seems that the skew is only dominated by the geometrical parameters of the belt and pulley in the case without torque load.
