Abstract

For finding the optimal design and operating condition in the hydrogen combustion system, it is necessary to consider the spontaneous-ignition characteristics. In this study, detailed chemical kinetics were applied to calculate the ignition processes of the stoichiometric hydrogen mixture, Explosion limits were well predicted under consideration of the adequate heat-loss. Based on the results, the ignition mechanism and the effect of heating rate on the ignition temperature were discussed.
