Abstract
In this study a numerical method to identify weighting matrices of a structural system using orthogonality of mode vectors of the structure is described. Mode vectors out of measured frequency range are estimated by Gram-Schmidt orthonormalization from mode vectors already known in the measured range. Adjusting the input number of measurement to the response number, the weighting matrices will be determined. Using a numerical model accuracy of the proposed method is verified, and the identified weighting matrices have the same modal parameters as the original weighting matrices.
