Abstract

In the present paper, we attempted to polish the surface of hardened steel (JIS:SKD11) with our developed polypropylene nanofiber spherical buffing tool by using the 3-axes machining center. In this report, we investigated the influence of different grain size and pressing force on polishing efficiency. We also changed the processing angle between main axis and workpiece for complex curve surface polishing. Otherwise, the processing model also be proposed. As a result, the relations among workpiece inclination angle, grain size and pressing force were clarified. The Preston coefficient also be predicted with our proposed model.
