Abstract

When a defect (initial crack) exists near high speed collision point, fracture caused from the initial crack shows complicated crack propagation behavior. In this research, we study the crack propagation phenomenon under eccentricizing the striker collision loading, Non-straight-line fracture behavior is observed by using a high-speed camera, in which recording the experimental results such as the crack propagation start time and crack propagation velocity.Based on the results of numerical simulations, the transition of fracture mechanics parameters is derived and discussed.
