Abstract
Nonlinear characteristics of bubbling from a submerged orifice are examined relation to a surface wettability. On a super repellent surface, an air from orifice spreads over an orifice, therefore, the departure bubble size becomes bigger than one on an orifice which has high surface wettability. Departure bubble volume is analyzed. For a low air flow rate, the departure bubble volume can be predicted by the balance of gas moment flux and surface tension, buoyancy and drag forces considering the nozzle outside diameter as the wetted periphery length instead of the orifice diameter should be considered. For a high air flow rate, the volume can be predicted by the balance of inertia and buoyancy forces.
