Abstract
Braces on Soundboard of acoustic guitar have an influence on sound quality. Usually, the bracing location depends on guitarmaker skill and feeling. There is no guidelines for designing bracing pattern. This paper describes a relationship between the bracing pattern, braces size and vibrational characteristics of a sound board, analytically. The following results were obtained: (l) Vibration surface area and radiation power of the sound board is larger, when the number of the braces on first string side is more than that on the sixth string side. (2) The distance among the braces have an influence on radiation power of both high note and bass.
