Abstract
We have been studying about the diesel engine operated by the neat rapeseed oil. First, the engine performance was examined by using the rapeseed oil in seven stages at the refinement process. As a result, the deposit generation was seen as for each fuel. In this study, the generation process of the deposit and the influence on engine performance by the deposit generation were clarified. The major findings of this study are as follows. The displacement of the tested engine is decreased and the compression ratio is increase by the deposit generation. And the exhausted NOx is increased as a result of the advance of the ignition timing. The Bosch smoke density is not increased by the deposit generation. Though the deterioration of the lubrication oil is found, the piston ring wear is less than diesel fuel operation. In conclusion, the influence that the deposit generation gives to the diesel engine Performance cannot be disregarded.
