Abstract
The noise produced in underexpanded jet impinging upon the flat plate can be considered to be caused by the jet (main jet) and the wall jet. The perturbations from these jets interact to each other and makes the analysis of the flow pattern complicated. In this paper in order to consider only the influence of the wall jet the radial jet is studied. The radial jet can be created by two opposing jets where collision surface corresponds to the plate. Schlieren technique is primarily used to visualize the flow field and its quantitative analysis is attempted.
