Abstract
This paper describes the modeling of automatic transmission fluid in wet friction systems of automatic transmissions using Cellular Automata. As a result of the modeling, it is shown that single-phase flow in one dimension can be quantitatively simulated, and that single-phase flow and gas-liquid two-phase flow in two dimensions can be qualitatively simulated although some improvements may be required.
