Abstract
Compound material has more performance and economy than single material. It is important to evaluate the stress state when the crack exists in such a heterogeneous phase shaft obviously on the safety design of the machine structure. We used epoxy resin for the sample material. Double cylinders that inserted a surface crack axially is produced. And, we experimented by static and bend. We used using of the photoelasticity method and the method of caustics together for the analysis, and calculated the stress intensity factor.
