Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance for earthquake resistance of a server rack through vibration tests using floor response waves of some buildings. To reveal the fundamental dynamic characteristics of the server racks, it is made the vibration tests through the sinusoidal waves, and analyzed the influence of server rack sizes and additional mass. Earthquake response characteristics for severe excitation of the server racks are also investigated.
