Abstract
In this paper, vibration and noise in wet friction systems with paper-based materials as seen in wet clutches in automatic transmissions were investigated experimentally. The experimental setup was composed of clutch plates and shaft of wet clutches. The circumferential, radial, and out-of-plane acceleration of a clutch plate and the noise around clutch plates were measured. As a result, it was shown that the frequency range from 400 to 1000 Hz of high noise level agreed with that of high acceleration level, and that dominant frequency of 810 Hz in noise agreed with that in radial acceleration of clutch plates.
