Abstract
Currently, the tendency of patients seek equipment more aesthetic in orthodontic treatment is becoming more. However, the difference in the material of the bracket is a possibility that not only differences in aesthetics, also affects the difference in deformation of the bracket under load. By using a three-dimensional finite element method in this study, and changes the material constants of the bracket, and discussed with respect to the difference in stress distribution due to the difference in materials. I have set the material constants (polycarbonate, polyamide, polyurethane, ceramic (alumina), stainless steel) in bracket model. Results of the stress analysis, ceramic, stainless steel showed a small value is the maximum principal strain as compared with resin-based bracket. Also in polyurethane, showed the value of the maximum principal strain is the largest in comparison in the resin system between the brackets.
