Abstract

The strain measurement system using CMOS inverter oscillator circuits is simple and can be applied to the multipoint measurement for transmitting digital data wirelessly. In this study, a new small type of strain sensor using CMOS inverter oscillator circuits that reduces the frequency change in the circuit due to the influence of thorough current was manufactured. By applying this small type of strain sensor to the strain measurement on static tensile tests, the strain measurement accuracy was examined. Through the test results, it was shown that the strain measurement accuracy was improved and showed the same level of accuracy as a conventional system using a Wheatstone bridge circuit.
