Electrical Discharge Machining is a process to remove a portion of material by electrical discharge in insulating working fluid. In previous study, machining characteristics changed in EDM with micro-bubbles. It is inferred that this machining result was caused by various factor (e.g. the types of machining fluid, injection of machining fluid, characteristics of microbubble and type of gas). In this study, EDM with micro-bubble and gas injection machining were compared. We compared the machining speed, electrode wear rate, and surface roughness Ra. Working fluid is electrical discharge machining oil and pure water. The effect of various gas for the machined surface was investigated. As a result, it was found that the machined surface by EDM with micro-bubbles is different from the machined surface by the gas injection machining.
