Study of combustion products from SI engine using cyclohexane and n-hexane as fuel

Abstract

In this study, exhaust gas components emitted from spark ignition (SI) engine were analyzed by using a comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatograph (GC×GC) with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOFMS). Cyclohexane and n-hexane were used as fuels. As a result of the analysis, it was found that nitrogen hydrocarbons were contained in exhaust gas. In addition, nitrated hydrocarbons with fuel skeleton were detected.
