Abstract

Welding is a joining method in used for various structures. Since heat is applied locally to the material in welding, tensile residual stress is generated near the bead, causes the stress corrosion cracking in stainless steel. Therefore, it is important to develop a method of welding residual stress reduction. We have proposed the method loading ultrasonic vibration for base material during the welding. The advantage of this method is to reduce the residual stress easily in short time.
