Characteristics evaluation of constructed low turbulence wind tunnel

Abstract

Wind tunnels with fine air flow quality are required for realizing aerodynamic experiments of various mobilities. It is better to use less turbulence in the wind tunnel for the experiments around mobilities. A wind tunnel was designed, improved, and started to be used at Gunma University. The wind tunnel has 400 mm x 400 mm in the test section plane. The air flow quality in the wind tunnel is evaluated by a hot-wire anemometer. The turbulence level was 0.5% for mean stream velocity of 40 m/s.
