Abstract
The rotating spindle stiffness measurement with a developed magnetic loading device is proposed in this research. The circumferential grooved tool is designed and manufactured for cutting down the eddy current which decreases the electromagnetic attractive force by the loading device. The spindle stiffness is measured in the condition that the spindle rotates at high speed with applying load to the circumferential grooved tool by the magnetic loading device. As a result, enough electric magnetic force is loaded to the tool and the displacement of spindle rotating at the high speed is measured.
