In this study, the new quantification method of the dynamic characteristic parameters of the tooling system is proposed, and then, its validity and utility are examined based on the experiment and the theoretical analysis. By extracting of the single mode element of vibration waveform and correcting the discretization error, the dynamic characteristic parameters can be quantified correctly compared with the conventional method. From the applied results, the influence of the difference in the structure on dynamic stiffness of tooling system can be explained based on the physical parameters such as equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping coefficient.
