Abstract
The measurement of cutting temperature is important when dealing with CFRP. High temperature beyond the glass-transition temperature of the matrix resin is not favorable as it gives some damages on the CFRP. In this research, temperature is measured in two ways when using an end mill machining. As a result, cutting point temperature exceeds the glass-transition temperature. But at the distance of 0.7 mm below the machined surface, the effect of cutting temperature on the surface damage is less significant. Low thermal conductivity posed by CFRP could lead to the occurrence of this phenomenon.
