Abstract

Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) is expected to be applied to mechanical parts. Therefore, a high-efficiency and high-quality processing method is required. In this study, the authors developed a high-speed constant-pressure grinding method, and the grinding characteristics of PCD using a diamond grinding wheel were investigated. An improved stock removal rate was obtained by increasing the speed of the grinding wheel. In addition, the effects of the coolant flow rate, bond material, and in-process dressing on the machining characteristics of PCD were examined.
